Franchise Top 5 HR Seasons By Position
Featuring every Franchise's Top 5 Homerun seasons at every position.
By Tom Wike | August 6, 2020
This article features the Top 5 Homerun seasons for each MLB franchise at all nine positions. That’s 255 different lists showing the most iconic power seasons for every franchise---at every position.
Top 5 Lists are often unfair, perhaps inherently lacking in nuance. Plus, they’re too short. Their universes are small and filled with a bunch of Yankees or the same “inner-ring” Hall of Fame guys again and again. But we have all 255! #6 achievers are left off as nothing can include everything and be entertaining but hey, we do have some because of ties.
In recent years, players other than Gary Sanchez must’ve set franchise homerun records at their positions? And what about leaderboards that aren’t just for an arbitrary decade like 2010-2019, but for any 10-year or however long stretch instead? Anecdote Baseball needn’t virtue signal any longer, as rest assured, talking points like these will always be exhaustively vetted with the best and most emphatic stories at the forefront. This is a leisurely Wiki-Wikepedia side-entry on Anecdote Baseball’s journey towards the granular obliteration of baseball’s great language; the culture-war of narrative non-sequitors.
